Bluetooth problem

2008 E63. As soon as it connects to the phone (Blackberry Storm), the speakers go mute and the dashboard screen says "Calling unknown number." The phone, however, is not dialing any number. Problem arose today...have been using the same phone with no issues for over a year. Anyone else experience this and/or have a fix? Thanks.

Have you tried to pair it with another phone for troubleshooting purposes?

What bluetooth module do you have in the car? whats the part number? Is it blue and black or a complete black unit? Have you every successfully used this phone? is this a new problem?

You on Verizon? I've had that before. Try deleting the pairing on your phone and then pair it again. I think it's the 4.7 or 4.8 Verizon version of the BlackBerry software that's buggy.

Thanks for the quick replies. I unfortunately don't have another phone to pair it with. Don't know the part number, but it's gray and black with a blue light. It has previously worked with this phone (a Verizon phone) for over a year, but the problem started just recently. I did, however, update the phone's firmware about a month ago...

In any event, pulling the battery on the phone, rebooting it, and then re-pairing it with the bluetooth module again seems to have solved the issue. This seems to confirm, as grantwoodtx indicated, that the issue is related to the firmware upgrade.

Depends on the season
This happened to me on my tooki bt unit once. It was dues to the fact that I had my old phone that was still paired to the bt. I deleted the old phone, restarted the car, and all was good
