Hi all

New to the MB forum so apologies if this query has been covered elsewhere.

I'm based here in UAE and have seen an E55 AMG VATH V55K, taken it for test drive and all seems well, but not entirely sure if its been maintained as it should be, compared to a Brabus K8 I recently test drove.

Car is defiintley a VATH tuned model plus brakes have also been modified.

What I should look out on this VATH 55K before I consider making an offer or should I consider a stock E55 AMG and then modify, appreciate any advice.

I know getting parts can sometimes be a PITA for you guys over there but I'd think it'd be much worth it personalizing it IMO.

wouldn't buy it if i were you.

it will be abused alot.

try to get a stock one. and modify it as i did.

and made it a beast under a stealthy cover ^_^

Since you said brakes even moddfiied,

for sure it will be special type and expensive while the AMG breaks are ok.

I have brabus K8 and I am based in UAE like you. The car is very nice with few extra modds, you will be able to beat the VATH. As for look, I think stock car or the Brabus K8 are both better front and rear. This is my own opinion.

Stock car is also very good choice because you will be able to mod it from zero.

Again the most important part is to find clean and good running car !!!!

Thanks everyone for your input. I am planning to look at a stock E55 AMG tonight, so will let you know how that goes.

As far as the VATH goes, the guy selling it does not really know much about the car and he has had it maintained at a local gargae in Ras Al Khor, so not entirely sure they were up to the job.

If I get a stock E55 AMG what kind of budget should I allow to get the power over say 530bhp+ and torque say 730nm +. Willing to spend the money to make the car special, but only willing to give it to a tuning company / garage here in the UAE who know what they are talking about.

Any recomendations of any particular tuning companies here in Dubai, who have experience of E55 AMG ?

go to evotechnik and ask abt nashad in abudhabi.U will be happy with there work.They tune all kind of cars from E55 to SLR.

i wouldn't go for Nashad, with all do respect, he doesn't know what he is doing. and now he has some big ussues with BMW dealer thanks to me ^_^.

if you are lazy to do it by yourself, i would advise you to go to ALSA in Mussafah.

if u r not lazy, then get the mods and do them.


acheving 530hp and 730Nm is not hard if it is on the engine. but if you meen on the rear wheels. well the Torque can be reached easily.

I am bit too busy to carry out the mods so using a reputable tuning company is the only way for me.

Just viewed a stock E55 AMG late 2003 model and first impressions very good. Mechanically looked, sounded and felt good.

Bodywork good for the year but usual stone chips and a few scratches. Only downside is that I saw the car in the evening so bit difficult to closely inspect the car.

Agreed to see the car again tomorrow morning to get a better look.

Queston I have is apart from the standard checks that I could do, should there be anything I should look out for.

As always, any advice is much appreciated. If all goes well, hope to make an offer tomorrow and secure the black beauty

if you are DXB, try NFS. in AUH try ALSA. price and job are good.

Do you know if those Garage's will do a good job on the w212 E63 as well? Or only the E55?

I am looking for either a Kleemann or a Vath power kit (wanna keep the exterior unchanged).

they are good to a poit where they have been there before.

if you re installing something that they didn't see before. it will be a PITA.
