Front driver-side wheel squeaking???
Hey guys, I noticed today that I have a squeaky noise coming front what seems to be my front driver-side wheel. Its present at all times, while I'm going straight, turning left or right. The weird thing is that the sound goes away when I am below say 10 mph... It starts up again after 10 mph and seems to increase in frequency as I accelerate, basically mimicing the rotation of the wheel...

Any ideas?

Wheel bearing?

Something stuck on the rotor??

Wheel Bearing! If it's a humming noise that gets louder the faster you drive, survey says - wheel bearing. It's a non-serviceable press-in. Ouch w/o warranty ;-)

Its not a humming noise though, its a squeaky noise, like something is caught between the rotor and the pad....

do a few hard runs and stops or maybe even bed in your brakes.See if it goes away.

I have the same problem. I was told to replace the stock pads with Axxis pads by someone who had the same problem. this has to be an inherent problem with this car because i heard two other E55 with the same noise. I will be changing my pads next month hoping it will work.

If it is not a humming noise, take the wheel off, and inspect the backing plate. It may be bent, or you may have debris in the dust shield.

I did a few spirited runs and stops and the problem went away!
