Need transmission help!!
On my way home this morning, car was running fantastic, do a couple of hole shots from stop light to stop light, went to turn out and my car pops out of gear...I am like what the hell. Turn off the car re start it and nothing. Revs like its in neutral in all gears. Put it in M mode and try to shift through the gears. No dice won't leave 1st. What the hell is going on!?!?
PS not clunking noise or gear grinding from the tranny or rear end, no oil, no drive shaft sticking out of car, nothing. Motor still sounds good though! Just wont move an inch!
Please help, and please dont tell me I blew a tranny, I have had a bad week already and then the only thing I love in the world takes a sh*t on me!

It's a ghost, but now you have a real opportunity to make it better. Check with these folks. Their 722's are good for 1000hp and all the electronics work properly.

I told you guys not to tell me its the tranny! Ha jk! I talked to MB and they said there should not be any correlation to the SRS. One reason that I do not think its the tranny is bc it just wont "click" into gear...I was not doing anything that I don't do every day!

Weird, it sounds like it's in limp mode. Happens occasionally but usually it goes away after key is out for awhile.
Limp mode is just like that. Car just revs like it's in neutral.
Try sneaky first, then before you pay the stealer, you may wanna try a battery disconnect.
It's a pain if you have a lot of settings etc, but otherwise it can work wonders. Just pull negative terminal for a few mins and connect and try it again.
WARNING....you will need to reset your ESP buy starting car and turning wheel stop and stop a few times. No idea why, but that sets the ESP and she is happy again.

E55 AMG
2 possibilities
Check your codes- speed sensor malfunction = transmission electrical plate (most likely on these cars, just did mine, same symptoms) - mutliple sensor malfunctions = valve body. Transmission, most likely not ;-)
Just a few thoughts.

You guys are the best! I will try all of the above. The shop closes right not, 5pm, So I will go over there in the morning and try all of the above. It is at a friends transmission shop.

Two guys with 2 different AMG came into a shop to get an ECU tune, one left with a new transmission and the other with a new supercharger. The AMG with the new transmission had the same symptoms you described.
I hope yours still under warranty.

There's always the possibility that the rod going from the shifter to the tranny somehow worked loose or lost a clip and fell off. Put the car in neutral and try to push it. If it doesn't move then it's locked in park. Put it in park and try to push it. If you can push it in neutral and not in park this will verify that the linkage is good. Since it happend while in D this is likely not the case, but it'll take 2 minutes to check.

Well guys at this point it looks like I blew the trq converter. I knew i was running too much trq! In the process of blowing that up it of course sent metal shavings through the transmission and the transmission will need to be rebuilt or replaced. If anyone knows where I can get a new tranny and converter please let me know!

Not sure if this will help, but there are rebuild kits ($400), complete gear trains ($600), and complete 722.6 transmissions listed on eBay. I checked LKQ, and they said they didn't have any in stock.
Bad timing with the nice weather too.
