Maintenance shedule
I got a message "Service C in 30 days" yesterday. I currently have 45000 miles. I've look through my service manual but nothing describes this service, although it describes service A and B. I also found the MB site for maintenance and no luck either http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/data/p...006_e55amg.pdf.
Can someone explain what in this service and cost? Thanks in advance.

They pop up other letters, but my dealer only has Flex service A and Flex Service B. All the other stuff the higher letters cover they just recommend at the interval it should be done and/or what the computer says.

rluvsbenz,
What a Service "C" is simply a maintenance service. But you already know this. Mercedes service is on the A - H system, meaning each letter represents how much time it will take to perform the task. So a Service C should take about 3 hours. And it's simply a glorified oil and filter change, maybe air filters, inspections, topping off fluids, maybe a brake or coolant flush. Possibly windshield wipers replacement, cabin filter, fuel filter, etc. But only the car knows what is needed, once they hook up the computer to it. Plan on spending in the neighborhood of $600 for the service.
I hope that explains it.

As I stated only the car knows for sure what is needed, but it also depends on the interval and mileage for all these things. If your car was well maintained, then maybe just an oil and filter change may be required. That will cost you less money in the long run. But ask around, try different stealerships. I say that, because they rob you. They recommend this and that, most times your car doesn't need it. I would find a independant shop that deals with Mercedes, most times you can get the same level of service at a cheaper price. I perform my own maintainance, unless something is outside of my realm, then I'm forced to take to someone. But in your case, it might not be worth the hassle and aggravation on doing it yourself. Just take it to the stealership. ask for a quote of the repairs before the work is started, that way, you'll know how deep their biting into your wallet. It's better to know, what your in for, then for your wallet to need a government bailout package...LOL
