it has so much vacume that it will pull your gasket into the tb.I also have the K&N filters.

Just for fun I did a first gear pull with no filters and the car was way faster, soo my next mod is def a bigger box.

ps dont try this at home.

I did it in a clean area with no sand or anything on the road and was just one quick pull to see if it made a difference.

It def did and I can see why the gasket got sucked in.

The intake inlets are the biggest restriction in my opinion. Good luck and hope you can figure something out to help other E55 guys

+Infinity!!!

When dyno tuning my car in LA, Vadim kept telling me "there is some type of restriction". We discovered that I was using an older part from the early days of TB modding. It's the piece that the TB connects to. That picked up some hp and THEN when we put on the VRP airbox, she jumped something like 20whp. Car is just starving for air.

Who's ready to try one of these bad boys? Only requirement is that they have to be smarter then me when it comes to the PINs

I just posted up my results from a stock air box and a 82mm TB, I saw a 40 hp gain from taking the box off.

That would only make the vacuum worsecif you were to dial it in properly. Going that big would also probably effect driveability too. But if someone local wants to try it and the number of signal pins is the same as E55 and the sc inlet has enough meat on it to bore out to 102mm I could probably make it work on a local car (hardware wise, tuning is on them)

I thought the problem was in the intake side? Granted it needs a better air box but wouldn't a bigger TB help as well? Maybe we're talking about two related but different things. Just thinking that you can open the air box but if it all goes to one smallish TB it still hits a bottleneck.
