Exhaust setup to try and replicate SLR sound?
OK on the exhaust note - what setup best replicates the SLR rumble?
So far most setups I have heard are more "whiney" / "metallic"...

imho, open cut-outs sound horrible. i don't know what the slr exhaust consists of, but not routing the outlets all the way to the rear of the car has to be at least partially responsible for the improved sound.

it has one huge resonator sitting upright on each side conected directly to the cat and headers.i tried to have it but it wont fit,the g55 has almost same sound maybe the resonator(long) would fit.

Yup so no X or H pipe involved there either... I would have thought straight through from front cats back into oem mufflers should be allot closer I would think ...? Get rid of resonator / and ny X / H bank linkage...?
Long pipes will drone though ... thats the only issue without resonator I expect.
