Belts are considered wear items and would not normally be covered, unless you can show that a defect caused it. About the only causes we get around here are mods, so no Chrysler SHOULDN'T pay for your play.

Agree, belts are should not be covered. Get a good quality belt, install it correctly, and make sure the pulleys, idlers, and tensioner are in good shape. Poorly made crank pulleys also contribute to this.
I always keep xtra belts in the car.

Brake pads, rotors, Fluids, Light bulbs, Belts, *tire sensors etc. are never covered under warranty. Some manufacturers offer maintenance agreements that cover some of the items above for a period of time.
*Some companies will cover.

Warranties (including manufacturer's warranty) usually don't cover wear and tear items. You maybe able to get them covered under a maintenance plan, but warranties generally won't cover them. It's good that you keep an eye on the belts because when damaged, they can do serious harm.
