New design grill
I will start to fabricate a gill like this one below when I find the time and a spare grill. I cant find any examples of it already done on a W211

just want to get some general ideas before I start. The idea is to get a bit more air flow, should be fairly simple to do.
cheers

Thank you, I am pleased that you also favour this design.
I just need a clear weekend to start the process.
The design will be simple for the first attempt, just reomove the centre original grill section and find mesh similar to the mesh in the bumper, I have also seen the plastic version which I might use

I made one of those for my W203. Got a lot of "Looks rice" comments too.

All in all it was a fun project. Only had it on the car for a couple days because it wasn't exactly a quality piece and needed a smaller mesh.
I say go for it. Looks better than the CL style IMO.

"THINK" being the operative word here. You don't know for sure it's gonna look like "jap crap" which by the way, is an extremely offensive & inaccurate (R34/ GTR?) term, just like I don't know it's gonna be killer. At the very least, it's an alternative to the factory chrome or paint the factory chrome black option.
+1! Go for it. If you make one, I'll put it on my car and post pics. Opinions are like a**holes, everyone's got one.

not to evryones taste..............I will source a cheap used OEM grill to work with and keep the surround crome with a diamond grill mesh insert.
I would have liked to also get opinions on bonnet ducts, but I have already sourced a pair and just waiting for the paint shop to finish painting the inserts.

Just do it. it will really need to be on a car to get the full effect could be great. I am interested as I prefer the open grill to alot of chrome slits, just my taste, also it should flow more air to keep the motor cooler , could be a good thing. keep us posted.

yeah just alittle over the top. Maybe blackCF wrap the roof and ease up on the gold and it could have some potential.
, more of babe magnet now than a dream car.

Photochop anyone? Maybe copy the lower grille and paste into the upper opening?
