06 E55 vs 07 E63
If you had a choice would you go w/ an E55 or an E63? Found a 07 E63 w/ 25k miles and hadn't really researched them as much as the e55.

If they both were even miles, similar priced, I'd still go with the E55 personally. My personal preference is I enjoy the bottom-end grunt of big-block like power (516 lb. ft. of torque) and the ease of modding the E55. You can research a consortium of great threads comparing the two. It got really "heated" and intense a few years ago...kind of wish there was the same intensity for some "friendly comradery"

If you plan to leave the car stock, it is very, very close race stock versus stock--either one could out pull the other by a car depending on the DA, temp, and just whether one is by chance faster off the hand-built line. The E63 has a 7-spd tranny that gets off the line nice, but can't take the horsepower like the tried and true 5 spd. in the E55. Most prefer the cosmetic looks of the E63 (I do!), but you can change that out on the 55 if you want to spend some $. You will probably see a couple E55s break 10.5x this spring/summer, so, it's an exciting crowd to observe and learn from--I've enjoyed learning from these guys (and gals Vic) on the W211. Time will have to tell if the W212 will unveil a formible twin-turbo model next year to de-throne the E55 as far as the baddest quarter mile saloon (under 100K).
