Option #4. Just imagine the possibities. I also vote for the twin 30R turbo, because it will be like instant boost on the 5.4L engine.

I am looking into a single turbo that feeds the supercharger. Some cobra guys do this with alot of success.

I wanna see your car with full tank of ice and race gas fully in the system before you start ripping it down or messing with pulleys.

Guess the only drawback is we are getting into the "too warm for records weather" but I still am hoping for a chilly weekend and seeing that thing set the US record!!!!

After you set the record, then I say have fun and tinker around with either long blockin it, or cranking up the boost on the Klee.
Actually I looked at the forecast and this weekend should cool down to the 60's, I am strongly considering fixing the car and running it this weekend and put the project on hold til most of the summer events are over. I don't drive my car much in the winter so that would be a perfect time to start a project.

It might be quicker than I expected but I doubt it. I'm sure you are going to catch up and pass soon. Your setup in my light car would be

You don't need big turbos to make a **** load of power with 5.4L, and the 55K block will do just fine with the right tune. You aren't going to break it from too much HP or TQ...

Haha I know I'm at least a little crazy for having a hobby thats more expensive and more addicting than a crack habit! I'm with you on the turbo/s idea. It is very cramped and alot of thinking/planning has to go into this to see if it is even feasible. I looked at the car last night and this is going to be tough. I have a few ideas though. How much do you think the 55k bottom end is good for?

#4 is my favorite as well. I was looking at where I would mount twins and there is like no room. I was thinking twin 6262 turbos. I have a few ideas I came up with last night, I have to sit down and plan it all out to see where all the piping would be routed and how the turbos would sit. Definitely not going to be a simple setup given the space constraints

I say go with option # 6 or #7

#6: shoehorn in a 63 motor with SLS top end and then maybe dry sump it for some added fun

#7: see option #6 then add two turbos

That would be nice but in order to add turbos and make any kind of boost the c/r would have to be lowered

Yup, probably a winter project. Those hellion kits are retarded on the cobras and GT500's.

After looking at my motor I noticed that in order to put the kleemann sc on the car the front eyelet (part of timing chain cover) is cut off and the rear 2 eyelets are removed to fit sc. I can buy the 2 rear hooks or take em off my CLK430 but what do I hook onto in the front? I was told to "get creative" lol.

Another thing I noticed is the C32 has a single belt 8 rib pulley system. I guess they overspin their accessories when they swap to bigger cranks and run over 20PSI of boost. I wonder if those kits would bolt up to a V8 and possibly run their accessory pullies (since they are 8 rib as opposed to my 6 rib, less slip) if they bolt up to hold me over til the winter and turbo time. Hmmm

The plan is to figure out a way to pull the motor this weekend and get the wheels turning. Who knows how this is going to end lol Maybe an accidental fire to get rid of this money pit! HAHA

Well that did'nt put an end to my money pit yet. You've inspired me to continue. I've decided to go forth with the 18psi next stage. Both Evosport and DynoComp is ready for me.

I found a local MB tech that can get me a brand new wire harness from the dealer and have it installed for $1400 total.

I may just run with my car the way it is depending on when the event is. If it is a month or two away. I will run it with 18-20psi with another 100 shot of Nitrous and hope the car does not blow up.

You've been doing this build for how many years now? Good thing you listened to me or else your car wouldn't even be running yet lol. Good luck, It's really not that hard to do what you want. A 200 shot and 18PSI? Is this like your 6.1L with twin turbos? Good luck at Sac, don't get mad if your car doesn't go tens

Those pulleys may bolt up, but you need to make sure that they diameter of the pullies is the correct size for your motor and such, i would think. I dont know much about SC, just ask me about turbo stuff and i'm fine. LOL

How much would it cost to have all your pullies remade as 8 rib?

It is irrelevant to the sc, I am talking about all the pulleys except the sc. As long as they bolt up and are aligned properly I find it very hard that MB would make much different diameter accessory pullies for different cars

****!!!! The motor I was going to buy has a cracked head and broken block and the shop is saying the motor is useless.

I would do a remote located turbo, the SC can pick up the low end and turbo at the middle/top.

All my cars have standalone engine management, they don't drive like stock at all which is good and bad - easy to tune on the dyno but drivability takes a while to dial in. Lose traction control and (in one of my cars DBW throttle). Don't mind all the xmas tree lights in the dash . Run E85 or pump gas! Not sure how your auto tranny would react, I converted mine to stick to get around that issue!

I would drive it the way it is for the summer (enjoy the beast!) and do whatever you want in fall/winter. I made that mistake and regret it.

Ahmad,
What's the latest development? You gotta break that record before the TT 5.5's come out.
