Huge flow Headers are on! Tune Time!

After a ton of custom work and help from Eurocharged, the headers that fit the E55 are on my CL55 .. These were custom made 1.75" primaries and a special 1.7/8 primary inlet /3" outlet merge collector.. Everything was ground and polished inside the collector and tubes to maximize flow and power!

I made a quick test drive and the power is insssssssssaaaaaaaaaaaaaane! No codes and yes I am running a 3" mid pipe with race cats.. I have an X after the cats and still have to do soem piping work on my rear exahust section to clean up some restrictions.

These large flow headers would fit on any E55 but the CL K member is larger and caused me a lot of extra work to make them fit.. I had to grind and even cut two of the primaries to give more clearance.. I need to do some final mid pipe welding, shaping and adjusting but then ready for dyno tune! Speaking of,, I plan to dyno tune at Kurt`s in Victoria TX and have Jerry come down to do this live.. How many want to get a tune , enjoy the country, eat some good BBQ , tune and share war stories? Maybe we can set up a day?

Those looks mean!

The options for this car in the $2,000-$2,500 range are killing me. Stage 1, headers, or exhaust?!?

And cooling mods...

I can't wait to see the improvements Brooke. I'll have to make it to a cars and coffee or urban speed meet to hear your beast. I bet it's incredible.

Yea, I'm thinking of the Eurocharged 172mm Pulley, Tune, and Cooling Kit which comes with the heat exchanger and Johnson CM30 pump.

I might have to make the drive over from MS to hear this beast as well.

Here are a few more pics.. I was glad EC up-sized the headers for me ,, as it was crucial for me to have large primary tubes but most of all, the right collector.. This is where all the gasses bang heads.... The collector is the most crucial part of the headers on an S/C engine and most engines for that part..IMO.. We want large, gas directed and smooth efficient flow..

Note the pyramid shaped cone in the center of the collector , the gas guide channels and large flow area.. This is what we want on a S/C engine! This is also the most expensive part of headers and the part that many companies cut corners on, to save money.. It cost us power, when not done right!

This is a shot of my custom collectors. This is before completion of welding the V band flanges and polishing all the rough edges out..

A pic of the passenger side headers, after instal.

Pic of headers on a moc up engine , to test for fitment..

You know, I just realized our stock tiny little manifolds look like, little weiner dogs..LMAO!!

Very nice! I am sure you will need to build a bunch of them. Killer price too! Mine sounds like a 10 litre big block on steriods and power to match..

They DO! That's funny! I propose we all start calling the stock manifolds "wiener dogs". It's fitting b/c it matches the look plus it sounds a little pejorative so the guys with drs can make fun of the "wiener dog boys"...all in good fun, of course

Yes, that is my garage floor. Wife had it done for a B day present a few years back but she called in the pros to do it.. The kits never look right to me..
