Okay, we have debated this for years so I will just give the cliff notes. BY Federal Law Benz cannot void your entire warranty for doing mods. Meaning lets say you toast the motor with this cat back, Benz legally can't deny you a new windshield washer motor as it has nothing to do with your cat back.
HOWEVER....Benz does this and has SO MANY TIMES. When a dealer who is "anti-mod" labels your car (forgot the Section X) it is called.....you are done and it goes National info database so you can't drive to a different state and try to sneak it in.
So bottom line, noone really knows the exact answer. You need to see if anyone here is using your dealer and see if they are mod friendly. If they are not, then you run the risk of being black balled when they find out ORRRR most likely having your cat back be blamed for any type of engine trouble that you might encounter and thus them denying you service under warranty. If you decide to put it on, make sure you save all parts for worst case scenario and have them reinstalled in case of catastrophic failure of a major part.
Could you win in court, maybe. Would your car sit for years in limbo....you betcha.
