SPEED-O Question

i have an 03 55, and everyone is telling me to lift the governor

few questions

1. how fast will this car go stock, 200 mph? that is the rumor?

2. will the digital speedometer continue to rise as i go past 160mph or does that stop at 160 when the analog speedo hits 160mph

i think the ecu cuts the power after 160 or 156 cant remember. so if you are going that fast the car will not accelerate after that point, regardless of weather there room or not in the dash past 160.

yes then the speed limiter is removed, be sure to double check with your tuner

No it does not. You would need the upgraded 200mph speedo or GPS to check speed.

Been there.....it locks at 160.

i would change out the speedo in a heart beat, i heard it was almost impossible to do

You need to get a speedo from a CLS63. I kinda gather it's the best way to go about things. MBenzNL is a vendor on here and has done a number of these swaps. I'd start by giving him a PM if you're that set on making the change. The clusters aren't cheap as you have to purchase the whole thing but they look bad azz and it'll give you your 200mph speedo

I'd start with just a GPS and a tune that removes the limit if that's what you're most concerned with.
