Weird Discovery

As I was on my way home, just pulling into my garage, the reserve light came on. At that moment, a really loud ticking sound occurred. I was like WTF. Popped the hood and the ticking sound was coming from the passenger side of the engine. Today I filled up with a full tank of gas and the ticking sound is gone.
Have any other 63 guys notice this before?

I can honestly say, I never experienced this, as I never let my car get below a half tank.

I know of some 63 members here who had to replace their cams and lifters because of a LOUD ticking sound. I think the cams and lifters were worn out.

If you don't let your car get below 1/2 tank, are you filling up EVERY day?

You should still let the dealer check it out to be on the safe side, it should still be covered under warranty.

Ya i am for sure going tomorrow to get it checked. Its so weird though, the sound comes and goes. I really hear it when on a cold start up, but when its warm, it goes away, but you still can hear it a little. Im guessing either lifters or a purge valve needs replacing. Did your friend fix his ticking issue with this 63?
