The members actually do/did own the cars. Not standing up for anyone, but hypothetically, if someone works and buys a car, aren't they free to do what they want with it?
Further, AFTER it being stated that they are members here, calling them idiots is just plain stupid. You guys are welcoming those members to step up and start arguing/defending themselves, which will then lead to a flamewar.

Sure, it's just a car, but most people with nice cars worked hard to get those cars, and it just doesn't make sense to work hard for something that you like, and then not tak care of it.
