yup happened to me, too. i took the light out and shook the **** out of it until it dissappeared from sight.

looks like you will have to drill a large hole in the light from the out side immediately. free the poor animal then using a natural compound repair you light .

Can't really tell from the pic but there should be a bulb in the tail light where the bug is close to. If you pull out the bulb you can stick something in there to get that bug out.

 

I have a june bug in mine. Has been there since probably a month after I picked my car up... Haven't bothered trying to get it out...

What's funny is that I have a fly inside of my right reverse light and my wife has a fly in her 2009 right rear reverse light as well

Upon further review that looks like the rarest of Tiger Moth. were you in or around LAX international terminal?

This Moth is common in Indonesia and often molts int a multi-colored barbed caterpillar. They have been known to grow to up to a foot in legnth especially in the presence of artificial light(brake, reverse light).
