Long tube headers

Renntech stage 1, then Long tube headers added

My brothers CLS55. Only mod... Long tube headers.

Shall I go on?
Hey buddy, a month or two ago someone had posted pics of the stock manifolds and they are ridiculously restrictive.
My stock B18 off my old acura manifold looked like it could push more air through it than one of these E55 stockers, really ridiculous.
+1 on LTH, and of course a tune will make your modifications perform how they should, whatever they are.
.... To bad because it just didn't happen.
So, you're saying Jeremy does not speak the truth?
I watched him tune a couple cars at Jap Trix in West Palm Beach and he knows what he's doing. I decided to leave mine stock.....for now.
Play time beckons. Continued tomorrow.
By the way resonators have already been deleted...

If I were adding a pulley, throttle body and tune, then yes, I might spend the money for headers. But, they would NEVER be my first mod.
I've done my research, in the field, where it counts. All my Hot Rods have had headers for the past 40 years so I'm familiar with the results.
I'm not beyond being enlightened however, so show me a dyno sheet with a 50HP increase with headers on a STOCK E55.

To the OP, go with some good LT's and you'll be very happy with the gains. LT's have been proven time and time again to gain substantial amount of power, both peak and under the curve. IMO a tune will be worth the time and money to get the most out of your LT's.
As for simple bolt-on headers, I don't think such a thing exist but than again I could be wrong. Header seem to be somewhat of a time consuming install from what I've seen and read. Good luck with the build and I look forward to your results.
You all will be busy tommarow chasing the 50 hp tune comment.. Have fun!
OP, go with LT`s and have a new mid pipe built for the heders. Then just keep the stock stuff intact. No need to use mid tubes, as they require a mid pipe wor or hacking stock pipes. Evosport makes the best shortie headers that you can use stock exhaust with.. Maybe 50% less power gains but easy..

Not going to beat this dead horse any further because for me at least, LT headers would be at the bottom of my list of mods if I had a budget to stick to. My first mod, (if I was inclined to mod my car), would be a PULLEY and TUNE. Second mod would be THROTTLE BODY, and lastly, headers to get the most out of my previous mods.
At the cost for LT's plus installation my cost/benefit ratio meter is barely moving.
It's been an interesting conversation and I'll concede some impressive gains based on the dyno results posted but, I don't think any of them showed 50HP. Close, but not 50HP and I suspect some of those cars were not BONE STOCK.

I'm a big fan of all the other mods you mentioned, they do indeed make power. When it comes down to it, Its all about air in and air out.
If some place down the road, you choose to do long tube headers. They will make you a believer.
