Anybody have a DIY on removal of the ecu on an CLS55? Should be the same as an E55 no? Any tips or things to watch out for?

No longer stock '06 E55, A3 3.2 Quattro, LRD4 HSE, R107 280SL
Perhaps disconnect the -ve lead from the battery first?

Am I right to say the ECU is in the engine bay at the back of the fuse box?

IIRC, you do not need to to disconnect the battery. If you have "Keyless Go" make sure your keys are far enough away from the vehicle. There are 5 electrical plugs to be removed and there is an order for removal. Remove the outside ones first, just squeeze and pull (do not pull on the wiring, only pull the plug) The middle three have a swing arm which locks them in place and they can only removed in a specific order. There are instruction floating around with photos if you google.
