Has anyone ever used DJ Mayo to detail your car in the Northern Virginia area? I had my car done by him, and it was an amazing transformation. All of the abuse my car went through has been cured, and he was able to remove almost all of my scratches and the paint looks incredibly deep. Here are a couple of pictures from my iPhone 4 (not the best camera). I also included a picture from when I originally bought the car, so you can compare how friggin ugly that grill was.
From when I first bought the car.... what an ugly grill!

Yup. DJ Mayo is is truly an artist in his field. He's done his vodoo on my SL600 a couple of times:

Benz-O-Rama,
I had been following his work on Autopia for a while, and decided he was going to be the man to do the paint correction on my car. I saw the write-up he did on your car that you posted, and that sealed the deal for me.
If anyone needs paint correction, this is the man to see. It took me 1 hour to get there, I had to get a rental car for 4 days, but it was definitely worth it. My car now looks incredible.
DJ is supposed to send me the write-up on my car and the 50/50 shots, so I will post those once he gets them up.

Nathan-
First of all thank you. I'm glad to hear how happy you were the the work done to your E55 AMG. Like I have told you from the start, quality takes time and you went the right direction with your vehicle. I look forward to a great relationship with you and your vehicle. Hope your 4th of July was good. Here are some pictures from the paint correction.
1st step in doing all the leather restoring.

just for comparison purposes [all handmade by ...me:-) ]
Used cosmetics:
1. Meguiar's Quik detailer + clay
2. Mother's Carnauba Cleaner Wax
3. Autoglym HD Wax
4. and some cosmetics for interior...
Time-consuming
1. Day 1: Washing the car at manual car wash (I chose the optimal option for me)
2. Night on the drying
3. Day 2: Claying the car for about 3 hours
4. Day 3: Polishing / waxing in one [?:-)] or Mother's Carnauba Cleaner Wax in action, about 4 hours
5. Day 4: Resting
6. Day 5: Waxing with HD Wax, about 3 hours
7. Day 6: Cleaning the inside (no pictures), about 1.5 hours

mugatu22 - thanks for your opinion. I know that the result is not perfect, but I've just started the journey with the detailing and expect some better results in the future. Besides... it costed me more or less 80 USD and ... the cost of few beers

I'm a Griots Garage fan; their orbital buffer & pads, polishes and paint sealants are really good IMO. Their interior products are nice too and you can get everything in once place.
Again nice work.

Thanks for the comments. As you can see from the pics that DJ posted, he put a lot of time into my car. I mislabled this as a detail - this is a full paint correction.
I looked at it this way, I could spend the money and do it once, and the car would be perfect. Then with proper maintenance and wash techniques, I would only have to see him once per year for a few hours of follow up work.
The difference in person is stunning. I simply did not have the time to do this, and I did not want to learn a craft on my expensive car. The way I look at it, DJ is a master, and it took him years to master his craft. I could never do the same in the short time of a couple of details on my own car. Plus, I would be really pissed at myself for screwing up.
With this, I have really stepped up on the maintenance. DJ spent time with me and helped me order some materials and showed me what to use and how to use them. I am sure that I will be able to keep this car relatively scratch free for a long time.
This was expensive, and not for everybody, but for me, it was a bargain and well worth it to acheive the best possible outcome on the paint by a master.
As for the grill - yes, it was ugly as hell. I made the dealer change it before I even drove it off the lot. I know a few people on here have them, but I think it really ruins the lines of the car.

DJ is truly a stand up guy. I have know him for about three years and his skills keep getting better and better. I haven't had him work on the Benz yet, been to busy spending money on go fast mods...lol.
Most experienced amateurs can get there car to about 75% of the way to perfect, but you need a master like DJ to go the extra mile.
Most professionals charge a minimum of $750 for correction as it is all based on hourly...the worse the paint, the higher the bill.
$1200-1500 is not uncommon for full correction and interior detail.
Car looks amazing, great job man!

I bet, the winter can do a number on cars. Much worse than summer. Where exactly are you in Va?
