Exhaust Dent?

I noticed on my car that there is a small dent on the pipe leading to the right muffler. The dent doesn't appear deep. It's as if the previous owner accidentally hit a parking stump/curb. Would this cause any performs problems? If so, how can I verify?

negligible reduction in pipe diameter wont cause any performance issues

Depends on where the dent is, how deep, how big the tube and how much flow an engine produces. Most dents most likely won't make any or much difference. For best flow you do want smooth, straight as possible or at least long radius, tubing sections.

In Nardeezy case from what he says, most likely no difference. If it comes apart close the that dent might be worth it for piece of mind to remove it and use an expander to remove the dent. I would be willing to bet that the manifolds and cat pipes are much more of a restriction.

The tech's and shop foreman checked it out at the dealership and they mentioned that it wouldn't make a difference based on the location and severity. Iguess the only way to really verify is to get it dyno'd?
