First, greetings to all, second, I have persevered and finally made it happen. I have been a member of this forum for about 2 years and I have watched the E55 since 2003. There were times where I believed it would never happen and that I should just be happy to be getting along in this economy. Well I have been fortunate and some things that I believed were impediments have actually helped me and with the support of my wife we will soon have a 2005 E55 AMG. I look forward to the challenges of ownership and the advice of the members of this forum.

Can Drive 55

Good choice. I have had my 05 for almost 6 years. It has been amazingly dependable. Still looks, rides, and drives like it did when it was new.

We have been a bit preoccupied here lately, have an extreme home makeover going on in our area and I volunteered the services of my employees and I. After the dust settles I will take possession later in the week and take a brief honeymoon of sorts with the E55. We are taking a little cruise for 1500 miles to get acquainted, I imagine I will be paying more attention to the radar detector than my wife! I will post up some pictures after we get back.

Get a Warranty.


This cars have some expensive components, and although they are pretty dependable, the value of the warranty is piece of mind. Ive had my E55 for just over three months, and love it. Everything works perfect, but I have the warranty just in case.. I believe you will see some agreement within this thread. Congatulations on the new car!!!
