Im wondering how the panel covering the cd changer is interfaced with the car. Is it actually through the CD changer itself? Or does it have its own connector?
The only reason i ask is because I would like to remove the CD changer and put in a pocket with an ipod dock in its place (I'm installing a Mobridge system). But if the panel covering it (seat temp control, lock/unlock etc) is connected through the CD changer, I'm not sure if its possible..

The CD changer pops out just fine. I don't remember if I open/closed while it was out, but I couldn't see that they were connected. I think the button just works.

No it does not open with out the changer in there. I took my changer out and put my controller for my DSP6 in there. I removed the motor so i can open it manualy.

For future reference, it does, as long as you use a MOST bypass loop. I'm making a new thread with pics of my new setup..

Where did you get the bypass loop?

It came with my mobridge Bluetooth/iPod kit. I'm pretty sure you can get one from the dealer too.
