Oh my, why did I ever doubt you? Since you've owned all these cars and bikes in the past, I guess you really do know about modding 55's and blowing them up even though you never owned one. I'm going to remove all my 55's modifications pronto! You just saved my checkbook from inevitable flames.
Your right sorry to have bothered and wasted my time and yours. Enjoy your E55, I am certain if you got a good one its a nice car, but I am not one willing to hinge a 20k plus purchase on an IF.

I dunno why that guy is all fussy about owning one of these cars. I love my E55. Best purchase I have made in my life, yes I said it... even over my house or my business. Why? Because of the sheer joy the car brings me. Don't worry about the auto tranny, there's more than enough low end torque to keep your mind off shifting gears. Good luck with the search man! Hopefully you'll be part of the family soon

E55 is a great car hands down, rock solid, and pretty much the standard. But its like anything you buy, if you cant afford to fix it then you cant afford to buy it. Some of us get lucky and have a car thats never in the shop, and sometimes things just go wrong. But cars always require maintinance, no matter what you buy. Its the nature of the BEAST. And if 26k is too much for you to pay for an E55 I can tell you right now an E55 is not for you then.

Great opinions all. As far as affording repairs, that's not an issue really. Any of the cars I'm considering (E55, M5, S4, RS4, CTS-V) are not cheap to repair haha. So I am prepared for the higher maintenance costs either way. Just trying to do the homework and get a lot of angles on the choices.
As of now the E55 is on the top of the list because of the sheer power over the others. The RS4 is at the the top too but is significantly more expensive so that might be a stretch of reality for me. The others are nice but at this elevation ('5300 ASL) their NA motors are just dogs and I know I'll lust for more power.
