how to remove the cup holder 04 E55
So my cup holder is stuck pushed down and wouldn't come up no matter how hard I try. I think, I just need to pull it out and clean. Can somebody explain how do I remove it without breaking anything!
Pics would be great (even with a cell phone cam)

**I did a search and came across a few threads about broken/malfunctioning cup holders but didn't see anybody explaining how to remove the actual unit. I should be able to just pull it up (when in closed position) right??

The cupholder unit is held in place by a flat plate that faces the rear of the vehicle. With the lid open and the cup holder closed, you should be able to use the tips of your fingers or a screwdriver/hook of some kind to grab the plate and pull the unit out. It clips into place, so you have to give it a good tug straight up to pop it free.
