I'm really hoping our "street" setup looks like this. I'm posted this in another thread. We did this system for a local custom on his E550. It sounded really nice on it too. He also hand made the tips inspired by the newer E63.
We will see how it goes. NOTE: this pic is before full install to the tip looks a bit off when lines up to the bumper

This would be a great mod if they are priced right. I cant justiy a ton of money on a exhaust. I did that with my 5 series and in the end it was not worth the 4k.

Slowly LOL. I'm hoping to realistically start Tuesday. Once my car is in the shop the project should go fast
Yikes! I'm hoping (fingers crossed) less than half of that. I really want to bring something a bit more affordable to the table.

That would be great. Because doing the math for an exhaust header and mufflers this could get real expensive real fast. The lower the cost the better.

good project hooley...i suppose you will be working on an exhaust kit for the SL55 using your own car as the test mule? I would be interested in the possibilty of going with a rear exhaust, maybe? Since this is more of a sound thing (SL55 factory rear mufflers are straight through flowing for performance) it's more of a cost and time based decision. Keep up the good work bro

the sl won't need new mufflers...if anything, once you have headers on and cats removed, you'll be searching for a way to quiet it down!

I'm working with an 55 of a Exhaust project, However, We are not 100% sure its what we want. When I get what think is a winner, Then I'll be calling in the E55.

Keep on plugging away, I know you will get it.. and when you do.. ![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)
On the other subject-
You should see how many stock exhaust systems are laying aroung Gintani. Not just stock, some very expensive titanium units, just disgarded. I believe they make some great stuff for the M3 crowd. I only go there for one reason

I'm expecting it to be done this week. Parts are off to powder coating. Once we get those back this thing will be ready.
Its been tying up a lift for about 3 months now. I cant wait to get that beast out of the shop.
