We are in debate right now on what car to bring. I'd like to bring my car, but I'm just not sure it will be ready by then. So our fall back plan might be to bring the Dyno-Comp unlimited class Subaru STI. If that car comes, It will sure be a sight to see bombing down the drag strip.

What is the ball park cost of a tune at the track? My last OE tune was right around $1000.. I am wondering if at the track there is some sort of "Bulk Discount". I know there will be a number of tuners at Famoso, and I will have my dataloging in place by this time.

Tech is not too strict since it is a 100% private event. However, they are more strict with people they do not know. You have a PM

We won't know exact start/end time until a few days before the event because we choose the best time based on weather conditions.
There are a couple of gas stations on your way down here that sell 100 octane gas, but it would probably be better for you to pick up a 5-gallon MS109 from VP and open it fresh at the track

All kidding aside, just make sure YOU DO NOT SPEED IN THE PITS!!!
They were literally minutes away from giving us the boot (speeders) for goosing it in the pits last time. Real loose tech and super nice, but must be an insurance thing on that pit speeding.
You'll see what I mean when you get there. In a private event, the parking lot/pit area is WIDE open and a perfect spot to practice launches etc, but they blew a fuse on us.

If you plan to tune your car at Famoso, then you'll have to reserve (and pay) a spot before the deadline. After the deadline, no cars will be added.
Tuning the car on the track, in my opinion, is a great tool to incorporate real-world driving conditions. It is hard to simulate 115 mph winds on a dyno, and aero dynamic drag, etc....

We've had a W212 E63 at Famoso run last month.... for some reason it did not do that great. I'm not sure if it was a new car (1200 miles) or if it was was because of the race launch feature, which made it almost impossible for the guy to burn out properly

Likely not in dyno mode. Im definately excited to help the possible W212 participant capture a record for the West. Id Love to see a sub 11 second 63 and a sub 12 63 too.....

NO NITROUS! if the da/temp is right with an adequete cool down and good track prep it could set a record(doubt it tho). it has all the capabilities to run 10.7 i would think
