*****Famoso Raceway - Private Track Rental Updated!!!- NOW 12/04/2010 *****
Ladies and gentlemen,
It is this time of year again.... I have reserved Famoso Raceway (1/4 mile drag strip) on November 20th for our exclusive use. We will have both lanes available to us as well as full use of the entire facility including the barbecue grills I am announcing the event earlier than usual this time to give enough time to people who are currently working on their car(s) or have on-going projects to wrap up their projects and bring their cars to the track for live testing and maybe even fine tuning.
In the past, every time I organized one of these events I ended-up loosing $300 to $600 out of pocket, which was okay until last year.... last time I ended-up paying $2400 out of pocket mostly in last minute cancellations. Lesson learned, so this time we're doing it by the book
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
- Price per car is $250 payable through PayPal. You must select "Personal" when transferring the money.... otherwise, the cost is $260 per car.
- All payments must be submitted on or before November 14th.... Sorry NO EXCEPTIONS.
- There will be NO PAYMENTS ACCEPTED AT THE TRACK for racing. The only payment collected at the track will be spectator fee. Sorry NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Spectator fee is $10 per person and will be collected at the gates upon admission by track officials.
- To cancel your spot and receive full refund, you must cancel (at least) 5 days before the event date. Otherwise, no refund will be issued.
- Send payment to the following PayPal account:
- With each payment, please include the following information:
Now for the fun part....
In November, Famoso usually sees very good DA: -200 ft to +600 ft (I know it's not as good as east coast tracks, but it is very decent for California). In a private rental, the track is usually well prepped and each of us will be able to get as many runs as we can/want with almost NO WAITING time at all. This would be a good opportunity to practice/perfect launches, shift times, try out different mods, fine tune each car, and most importantly hang out with a great group of car enthusiasts who share the same passion.
SPECIAL BONUS
There will be at least THREE TUNERS at the event. So whoever wants to fine tune their vehicle under real-world driving conditions, this will be your chance. Custom dyno tuning is great but you just can't beat custom track tuning especially on a good day :-D

Here are a few memories from our past events, enjoy....

Mo, you're killing me. Couldn't you have it on a date that's not near my wedding anniversary...LOL. All though if thericker, Chiromikey, URnext, and Hooleyboy all show I don't know how I could miss this one. I'm also hoping we could get the Sacramento crew to show and represent. Hammer, Mike, Kou, Andrew, and any others?

Thanks for all the efforts Mo! I'll definitely be there again! I have some business to handle at the track this time. I WILL hit my goal this time! I'm definitely bringin a couple gallons of race gas. No more straight pump gas like all the previous times.

My work schedule is sometimes 'on call,' so I may have to bail at the last minute but put me on the list.
Hey, somebody up there has to have the slowest stock car. Might as well be me.

I still have some dialing in to do but 2 months should be enough time to work it out. I should have left fast enough alone and been happy with it. How about you, any changes besides race gas or do you plan on surprising us!

Add you to the list.... looking forward to seeing your beast run
Glad to hear it Alan.... it's always a pleasure seeing you and using your expertise at the track
I can't wait to see your new beast after all the goodies and fine tuning. How are the throttle bodies working for you? Do you feel any power gains?
Sun, I really recommend getting a 100 octane tune file as well so you can see your car's potential. You can then switch between 91 and 100 octane tunes at the track. Also remember that this will be a great opportunity to actually fine-tune your beast LIVE with each pass

Can't wait to see yer car run! It's going to be EPIC! Only thing new that I'm bringin is a 5-gallon tank of race gas. No race tune or anything new. Knowin the time I ran with straight 91, I'm pretty sure just bumpin the octane will be good enough to hit my goal. HOPEFULLY...

I'm just hoping that my car will run close to my PB, I'm not expecting anything better but still hoping. If work allows me to stop working 65 hour a week I should be able to get it dialed in.

I plan on running my 91 tune also. If Jeremy is going to be there it will be a great opportunity to get it dialed in. He's a very busy man right now and getting that opportunity won't come around that often. If and when we get my 91 tune dialed in to it's fullest potential I'll move onto the 100 octane tune. I suggest you do the same and get your beast track tuned, the only way to go.

BUT....
We'll see. You guys and Jeremy might just end up making me do it...
