Timing is everything - literally

Ok, past couple days I've been getting a hard start, where it took 2-3 times beofe the engine would fire. I did my diligence and used the search button, and deduced it was the CPS, and ordered one from AutoHausAZ. Started her up today and lo and behold, check engine light. I pulled the code and it came up P0341, the other CPS, as in Camshaft Position Sensor So I ordered one of those today, but could not find a DIY. Does anyone know where on the engine it is and if I should have bought 2?

Oh, I though that was the location for the Crankshaft Position Sensor. So both the Camshaft and Crankshaft sensors are on the passenger head?

i'm not any help, just had to express my surprise that you were able to order a part from those dumbasses at autohausaz. i recently tried to order a rear airbag for my car and they told me that mb didn't make an e55 in '03. i told him i was pretty sure they did since i have one and he said, it must not be an amg and then asked what size motor my car had. not sure what the motor has to do with the airmatic so asked him to just get me the part for an '04. he then told me it would be a waste of time because it won't fit!

wait...you guys claim to specialize in mb parts???

Crank sensor is at the rear of the driver's side, behind the head (bellhousing area).

Cam is on passenger front. Crank is driver rear. Here ya go.

There is a DIY on how to get at the Crank Sensor somewhere around here. Pic is NA 5.5 but still the same.

Thanks guys! I decided to use my CSC and let the dealer do it, between the parts and the time, I'm breaking even after the deductible. Dealer is charging 1K to do both sensors.

Yeah, that's a dealer for you, but the parts come with a warranty, and if they fudge anything up, they are on the hook to fix it.

I'm going to sell the crankshaft sensor that I bought, for cost and free shipping, as soon as the brown truck drops it off.
