W211 Exhaust note?

W211 Exhaust note?
I was fortunite enough to see/hear a SL55 go by and the wonderful noise that followed it. I was wondering will the 211 E55 have the same exhaust note or will it be more suttle due to the longer exhaust piping? Anyone with A 211 E55 please tell me what you think! Looking at getting an E55 some time this summer/early fall

No, the exhaust sound isn't the same as on the SL 55 AMG. 
I wish however that it would be...
Don't get me wrong: the E 55 AMG has a very nice throaty V8 sound shortly above idle but as soon as you get at higher revs, the nice sound dies.

The exhaust note must be better than the "regular" cars like the E500 or the CLK500 right??
Is it louder and deeper than those cars??.....God I hope so!!

You are touching a sensitive point. The sound is great (throaty, dominant) between 600 - 1300 rpm. above it simply diminishes until you fully open up the throttle. But then the whole car gets louder not only the exhaust. That's the reason why I said that the E55 is a car for areas with a lot of traffic, lot of traffic lights and areas with limited speed.
I already asked if there's any possibility to change ( I mean an official one from AMG) but the answer is no. So I guess we have to revert to other parties.
