AMGs and V8 Kompressor for Lunch and Dinner
Well not really.
I decided to paint my emblems black. GT40MKV had a extra set of the V8 Kompressor ones laying around so he let me have them.
Cleaning, striping, sanding and attaching double sided tape to the emblems took me about 4 to 5 hrs to do. The star emblem on the trunk was impossible to remove without damaging it, so i had to swing by the dealer to pick up a new one, luckily it was only 5 dollars.
this project requires a lot of patience. it is a PITA removing to old double sided tape from the emblems and the body. hardest part was to get the alignment of V8 Kompressor.
i will post better pics after the last set is out from the oven. dammit the oven smells like paint!

here are some sneak pics of my other project courtesy of exotic-metal55. in short.... stock manifolds cut opened, piping removed, welded shut, stock flange cut, 3" ceramic cat welded. I am modding on a budget ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Looks good, maybe you can paint a set for me sometime. ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I know this might sound ghetto, but years ago people used to have their emblems plated gold while they were still on the car. Is it possible to use this same process to plate our emblems without the pain of removing them from the car? I'll admit, I know nothing about this process, so I don't know if it would even work.

about the emblems yes i also remember them gold plating them when they are on the car, that was my initial approach but i could not source anyone, i asked a couple of my contacts at the dealerships.

NICE! I just did mine this afternoon as well, looks much better IMO but I totally agree lining up the badges are a pain.

sand, etching primer, wet sand, rustoleum glass black paint, rustoleum clear and let it sir for 24 hrs before putting them on. the finish looks a lot better in person.

I have a set of stock headers lying around and would love to do what you did. Could you let me know what tubing diamter you used and if you ported any. When you say piping removed, what exactly was removed and what did you replace it with?
