More Fog Light Ideas
As we spend about 6 months in Germany I rarely drive the E55 during the winter months and never in snow or on salted roads. For inclement weather we do have an ML400CDI (BiTurbo V8) with about 275HP and a trillion lbs of torque. The ML400CDI, as all ML's, is built in Tuscaloosa AL, but is only available in Europe. The E55 is a U.S. car. On the ML and any other European Benz I have driven, if the fog lights are on and you turn on the high beams (xenon or conventional) the fog lights remain on. On all U.S. versions the fog lights turn off when the high beams are on (also no key warning, no auto door locks, no panic button on keys and no internal emergency trunk release on European versions). When the MB folks here see the trunk release they just roll on the floor laughing.
Back to the point of the thread, I have spent a good deal of time with the STAR DAS and cannot find the actuation to keep the fog lights on with the high beams. Perhaps it's in the developer mode - - - I don't know. Any thoughts on this?
BTW, I was able to change the AM & FM Radios to tune European frequencies.
