New Wheels- ADV.1 Flowspec

Did they give you ADV.1 center caps? I see MB ones on your set. Based on that retail price + MB caps, it seems like they sold you Niches, which retail for $2K.
Bottom line is the wheels are the same, but it's good to know what you have, should you sell them later so they are advertised correctly.

Seems the thread i started about this awhile back was deleted.. Hmmm..
But i was told by a forum sponsor that the Niche Sport, and the Flowspec are the exact same rim produced in MHT's facility. Guess now i know why it was deleted.

Thumbs down for me. Only because I think your color looked better with the silver wheels you had previously.
Black wheels is tough to get right on certain colors.

The caps they sent me were aluminum and they fit too tight in the front and too loose in the rear. The tollerance with metal to metal fitments has to be sooo perfect. The thickness of the powder coat was the reason the aluminum caps didnt fit.
The are making new centers out of plastic like the factory centers so they are more forgiving.

Here is Jordan's response regarding the Niche vs. ADV.1 Flowspec differences. This def makes me feel much better about my purchase. I wanted them to be super concave in the rear, which they are. Niche could not provide this feature for me.
I did try to purchase the Niche models 2 months ago and the local distributor did not have any in stock and he was not helpful at all. I did ask him if the rears were concave and he said, "I think a little".
4080,
Here’s an email sent to someone a few weeks ago regarding the subject, feel free to copy:
Dealer,
This email was forwarded to me from a potential customer you we’re in contact with. As you know they contacted you in reference to our new cast wheels.
No need for me to get into a long drawn out email about specifics, it’s pretty clear for everyone to see what you’re trying to do. Before offering these “half off” wheels to your potential clients you should be sure about what you’re selling as you can not get this wheel from MHT despite what you may have heard, the ADV5.1 cast is an ADV.1 design which is authorized for use by MHT for certain applications which we do not cater to. Although you can get the ADV5.1 cast wheel with a niche cap on it for less money, you will not be able to purchase it for any applications that we offer it to, nor can you purchase the deep concave model, as part of an agreement between ADV.1 and MHT in an effort to avoid any cross promotion and / competition. Furthermore, the MHT version is sold for much less as they are manufactured in large quantities using existing molds, where as our deep concave models are low volume pieces which use a specifically designed mold for our deep concave applications. Developments like this are very expensive and take a huge amount of development and effort to get to this stage. As part of our recent agreement with MHT, since the launch of our new Flowspec line, the Niche Sport wheel is now discontinued and the only inventory that is being sold at the present time is leftover part numbers that are in stock. No new shipments of the wheel will be incoming to MHT, only to ADV.1 in our specified part numbers. New styles are also in production for release late 2010.
If you feel that this information is false and would like to verify this, I’ve Bcc’d the staff, owner, and VP of MHT wheels on this email should you have any questions for them.

fyi guys, Les Swab sell the Niche M111 in 20x10 & 20x8.5 for $264 each, same price for front and rear. They said MHT has it in stock and they can have it on your car in 1 week.

Why this kid thought he could get back into the wheel game is beyond me.
One of my good freinds bought one of his new rims for his supra. Althought i did my best to convince him not to, the look of the ADV1 wheels won out.
The deal he tried to force with Niche Wheels is a prime example not to purchase from him.
