coolant leak question(intercooler??)
First off yes i have used the search button before we start! I have a mystery coolant leak and was looking for some help on it. There is no coolant on the ground ever and i just replaced the hose that goes from the heat exchanger to the pump because i was told it had a pinhole in it. When i first start the car in the morning after letting it sit a few days it will have a bad miss for a few seconds and then generally go away and sometimes i have to cut it off and restart it but it will go away. I'm really starting to wonder if its my intercooler leaking. The car has 100k miles on it now so any suggestions or ideas???

i decided to pull the plugs on the passenger side and replace them and the cyl 2 coil(had a misfire). The plugs looked pretty good except for the cyl 2 plugs were like a rusty red color but didnt really look bad. any other ideas on possible coolant leaks? i filled it to the top last saturday and had to put about 1/4 of a gallon in yesterday after about 300 miles.

Test, don't guess is my motto. Pressurize the coolant system. Check for hydrocarbons in the radiator with a test kit. Make sure it's not your intercoolers.
If I were you I would run down to advanced auto and borrow a coolant pressure checker. Run home and throw that on the system for a while and see if you can discover where the leak is. Check your fluid level prior to doing this and see how much is escaping. If you can't find a leak and the coolant level has went down, then it is probably in the engine. Check for exhaust gasses in the coolant with the test kit.
Who told you there was a pin hole in the hose? Did he pressurize the system?
Good luck.
