Cobra

This is just a rookie question. I was taking my kids to the park the other day on a back road when I see this silver cobra on my ***. I was not about to entertain him with my kids in the car. I kept going 50 and then pulled over because he was riding my ***. As he went by, he had to floor it and the whistle was very loud. I have no idea besides it was a cobra/supercharger/exhaust. Would I have had a good chance with him? It was probably a 2004/05.

I would assume there are many "possible" factors but what has your experience been with these cars?

To many variables and it was most probably an 03/04 cobra due to the blower whine. There are really four possible outcomes:

1) Stock pulley cobra makes 420rwhp/400rwtq and you would have raped him
2) pullied cobra make 470rwhp/470rwtq and you would definitel beat him from a dig because the struggle to hook and he would be playing catchup, from a slow roll you still have the edge due to the monsterous tq.
3)ported/pullied cobra's make 515rwhp/520rwhp and this is probably what you came up against because the blower whine is VERY loud and it would be death for the e55 if he hooks
4)twin screw blower cobra's make 600rwhp or more and you know what would happen here.

He was probably running a 2.75 pulley on the stock blower which is good for around 470RWHP at 12.6lbs of boost, If the whine was loud. You did good if you only lost by one. Gotta remember he is a lot lighter than you and only 2 doors.

The whine was super loud. Definitely as loud as the exhaust if not louder.

it was either a ported blower setup on the stock eaton or the Kenne Belle 2.2 twin screw. They scream extremely loud and generally are setup at 20lbs on 93 octane and make 600rwhp. The ported setup will net him 500-520rwhp and scare the hell out of people on WOT fly by's

03/04 Cobras are rarely stock. Those things make 600 horse w/ just a few modifications. They have Manley rods and pistons and Tremec T56 trannys. They're very big mechanically. Like you said, it's impossile to say who would've won without knowing exactly what the car was packin'. Given the right mods, though, it could've easily taken most E55s. I expect with your mods almost all 03/04 "Terminator" Cobras would've had a fight on their hands. I'd put almost even odds on it, but give you a very narrow edge.
