great job! i think your stock tb is the limiting factor, especially on your back track numbers...but i agree, those nagging cel's are a pita!!!

will see the car has more in her,the tall tires are hurting me,I might go once more with race gas to see what she does.

with a 1.645 60 ft she will run 11.3x

Our 1/4 traps are about the same, yet you have 2 mph on me in the 1/8th. What gives

Its your 16in tires and a different track.

Ned is known for low trap speeds also.I hit 96 mph in one run also

if you do make it back to the track and happen to have our oem air tubes...i sure wouldn't mind seeing a back-to-back comparison with the pythons like you did with the airbox.

I had your same exact tire setup on lightweight Kosie rims (17 lbs) and when I switched to the heavier 16" CCW (21 lbs) rims I noticed a 1-2 mph gain. I didn't see much of a gain in the ET's but more so in the MPH. All though conditions were cooler when running the different tire setup I corrected each time to sea level to determine my estimation.

Back when my car had the VR600 (80mm TB, Shorty headers, box PC tune, and 175 pulley) it ran a 11.49 @ 121-122 in 1500 DA at Famoso. It had the Kosei rims mounted with MT 265-40-18's and stock chrome rims up front. I think your car is right on par with what she should be doing with the listed mods in your signature.

Kleeman did a wonderful job in placing the right tune with your mods and it seems as though you have more left in her. Complement the airbox with a bigger TB and you'll see even bigger gains. My friend upgraded his stock tb to a 82mm and improved his 60-130 time by .6. Keep in mind that this car still has the original tune meant for the stock TB and a massive header leak. Hopefully I could get my friend to make a showing at Famoso to see what his beast will do.

A proper kit should not have given you that many problems. You should try to get hold of a used RENNtech kit; they are the first ones to come out with the 82mm TB and none of their kits caused any CEL issues.

I literally saw a stage 2 E55 gain 11 rwhp on the dyno by installing the RENNtech airboxes. We repeated the runs 5 times and each time the RENNtech airboxes were installed, the dyno reported 11 to 13 rwhp higher. Please note that those results were without any decent air support besides a weak fan in the facing the front of the car. I'm pretty sure with 120 mph winds hitting the front of the car, the gains would be greater.

Is it me or does the trap speed seem kind of low? I would've expected maybe 124 mph with an 11.4x

From what I've seen trap speeds seem to vary quite a bit from track to track, some slower and some much faster (Sac...lol). As we know, the mph is determined with the average speed between a set distance which could lead to a variance if that set amount is not the same. From my understanding, just what I was told, is that NHRA allows up to a certain percentage of error since this is the case. The accuracy of the ET's is held in much higher regards with higher standards..... I wonder why they use an average instead of the exact speed at the end of the 1/4 mile. I could be way off here but this is what I was told and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

IMO, trap speeds seems to be overemphasized in 1/4 mile runs here on MBW. I personally would trade in a few mph for a 1.4 60' time, but that's just me. Than again, if I was out trapped at the track on the same day by a very similar modded car, I would be very concerned.

You have to also remember, like I posted earlier, with my VR600 the car ran very similar times as Skratch at Famoso....11.49 @ 121-122. With this said, I personally think his trap speeds are fine. Just my $.02.

My best time slip so far shows 11.40@120 w/ a 1.70 60'

MPH seems right to me, since he had a good 60'.

it's nice when you get warned for going to fast...in a 4dr luxury car!

Congrats on your PB's.
There is a lot of good advice in here. Glad to see that the airbox helped as I have one on order too.
Don't get hung up on the MPH aside from comparing it to your previous times at the same track.
I feel you still have some more ET left in her!

When you had your VR600, didn't you have the "old 180mm" pulley (which was actually 178 mm I think not 175). Also, I don't think you had the RENNtech airbox. But you did have the VRP 80mm TB, which I understand was not exactly 80 mm as well. It is interesting to see how the variations in mods still lead to very similar times and trap speeds
