Too Much Power?
The other day I was next to a WRX STI at a traffic light. The temp. was mid 40's which is the coolest it's been since I installed the K1 kit and decided to do a little evening cruising. When the light turned green I pulled away and he laid back. He then did a fly by. At the next light he got behind me even though the lane next to me was open. I decided OK I'll start off slowly then stomp on it in case he plans another fly by.
Well, at around 15 MPH I nailed it, the ESP came on and didn't even blink, which is the first time that ever happened. I could tell the tires were spinning even though there was no squeeling and these tires have only about a thousand miles on them. It felt like the ESP was cutting power as the car shifted into second. The guy in the STI stayed behind me for which I was grateful because I'm not sure I would have done very well under the circumstances.
It looks like I may have to pass on any stop light encounters until the temps get above 55 or so.
