Intermittent Pull to the Right

Wondering if anyone else has seen symptoms like this. My 2006 E55 sometimes has a bit of a pull to the right. It's not too bad, but is more than can be explained away by the crown of the road. Sometimes it is there, sometimes it is not. Tires and alignment are both reasonably fresh, and it's not related to tire pressure.

But here's the interesting thing. If the pull is there, I can activate the high ride height switch. As expected, the display will show "vehicle rising" for 10 seconds or so. Then when I deactivate high ride, the pull is gone.

So I'm wondering if what I really have is a ride height problem in the front that is causing some cross camber - either the passenger side is too high, or the driver side is too low.

The suspension stays up just fine on this car. It recently went undriven for 2+ weeks while I was traveling, and wasn't noticably down when I returned home.

Has anyone seen something like this before? I'm not familiar with where the ride height sensors at each corner reside. Are they adjustable? Do they occasionally fail or get flaky?

All input appreciated.

Im pretty sure all 3 E55s I have owned pull ever so slightly. If an air bag is just a little off the car will probally pull. Not a big deal. They all do it at times. That explains why when you adjust it, it goes away.

Re: Pull

You may also have a cold weather tire pull. Mine will sometimes be very sensitive to road crown for the 1st few minutes/miles on cold days until the tires warm up a little. I have found that running lower pressure in the fronts (36 psi) helps as it softens the tires slightly. I run 39/37 psi front/rear cold in the Summer, 36/36 psi cold in the cooler months.

Thanks. Never heard of a cold tire pull, but I learn something most days. It does seem to be more neutral on the highway. The tires definately take a set when cold; there is always some vibration the first few minutes at highway speed.

I'm running Conti DWS, which are non-directional. Maybe I'll swap the fronts and see what happens.
