New PB and can smell 10`ss now..
Here is what happens, pull back tires into water box and brake TQ tires. They start to spin (if lucky a small amount of smoke) and then just bog down to almost a stop.. Let off and try again and wheels will barley spin.. This is in the water!
whoa thats crazy! I'll have to see if my car does that next time. did u take the traction control off? What settings did you have...on the ABC and the mode (sport?)
Nice run Brooke! I'm glad to see you're finally starting to have fun with the beast.

Higginsbeach had it down so fast that he would roast the tires in the box in dyno mode, then quickly take her out of dyno and hit the starting line. Not sure how he did it that fast!??
If you practice a couple times it shouldn't take more than 5 seconds at best.

I was able to do a long smokey burnout with your car (I'm sure you remember
) by doing the following:1. Back into the water box
2. Chirp the tires just to get them wet, and move in front of the water box
3. ESP off, tranny in sport, with "D" selected.
4. Left foot on brake, roll on to throttle then stab it, forcing rear wheels to break loose.
5. After 2-3 seconds of static burnout, release brake pedal, keeping the accelerator mashed, and spin out of the burnout.
6. Enjoy the show.
Your car never bogged on me, during any burnouts. I felt like I could've sat there, static, and roasted those poor Toyos.
Normally, I don't get street tires wet at all, but the very first run, I got them damp. On the other 5 or 6 runs, I just did the burnout without ever touching the water box.
Bukasa's E55 acted in a similar fashion.
Us poor 600 guys, don't have the luxury of doing static burnouts. We need to flip into dyno mode to do it.

Sunir was referring to the raised suspension setting, and ABC sport off. I suggested for him to set the transmission to sport, but probably also said comfort suspension setting, which is a setting in the W211s, similar to our ABC sport set to "off". Raising the suspension will help with weight transfer during launch.
His car ran a bunch of back to back to back 12.0x's with just a shelf tune. Strong car.

Like I said, he is in damn good hands with all your help up there..
I race with suspension all the way up too, manual tranny mode and TC off.. ECU will over-ride manual shift and shift anyway and ECU/TCU will override TC off , when it smells some spin..

I plan to try and run in sport shift mode again, as my 2-3 shift in manual bogged/slipped some on the one 11.22 run. Looking over my time slips, I was 3 mph faster at the 1/8th than before but only 1.5 mph faster in the finish.. That shift seem to hurt about 1 to 1.5 mph on that run.. Part of the problems with not be allowed to make multiple runs (no roll cage yet
).. I used manual shift mode at the Texas mile for ther first time and plan to test both ways at the 1/4 mile track.. I only ran in sport shift mods in past years..

Brooke, I am fortunate to have guys like BOR, Ahmad, Jay and the bunch out here...we have awesome track days and everyone has fun. It's a great place to learn and the camraderie honesty is just as fun if not more so as the actual track time...to me it's a day to hang out with buddies and every now and then a drag race breaks out lol
