Engine surge when hot
guys, when the E55 is hot and i have been sitting in jams, if i moveforward slowly then let go of the gas, the engine surges the car forward like ive just hit the gas pedal by mistake, i end up having to keep a good distance from the car in front and keeping foot on brake in case it surges!
its a ver y weird problem and happens only when hot, its like the throttle gets stuck.
could this be throttle body getting stuck?
something to do with the super charger?
its booked into the dealers on the 24th, would be good to get to the botom of it before then!
cheers

It sound like the same thing I've been experiencing latley also. A buddy of mine (MB mechanic) says I have a vacume leal, and he wants to change my intake gaskets. I plan to have them changed this week. I'll give an update once I get back into the car.

Update -
When I dropped off the car I left it running so I could show the mechanic how the idle was surging - It was only a little surge and you could hear the idle was off, almost like a miss fire, and all along no codes on the dash.
Intake gasket's are replaced and it's purring like a kitten. I took it for a ride and everything is on the money.
My guess this would have been covered by warrenty but I only spent $240 for parts and labor.
It's good to have a buddy that is a MB tech, and I plan to ALWAYS do all the maintenance on the car.

I'll see if I can get the part numbers, my buddy was giving me the old gaskets in the new package. I just figured I don't need these, if it happend again I would just order new ones.
They where located under the super charger, and as I said it runs great, nice idle no more surging.

Ok , after changing the plugs and wires, on idle its smoother, not 100% smooth when out of gear but noticably smoother. took it for a long run in the heat over the weekend and after i pulled up it done its balasted surge again!
part numbers for this gasket would be great. also not the surge tank gaskets, but below the supercharger?

spray WD40/carb cleaner all around the gaskets areas until you find the revs change and then you found the leak..........what ever it is I am sure it will be an easy fix.
