resonator and 2nd cat delete

Hey guys. I am looking to buy my own stainless 3" pipe so I can take with me to the exhaust shop to save money. If I am going to delete the resonator and 2nd cat in place with straight pipe approximately what length do I need and the thickness? or does it even matter? Quick response from anyone appreciated!

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
To be honest, the exhaust shop put in my X-pipe and piped through the resonators for only $250.00 or so. X-pipe cost around $35.00. Not a bad price to avoid the hassle. Good sound and weight savings. They make money on the materials also, so showing up with your own pipes might jack up the labor.............

I will second the call to let the shop handle the complete package, any problems with parts you supply and things can get funky. A good shop will have everything they need and from my experience they are usually fair about misc. supplies. The experience they bring to the table with fabrication skills is well worth it. I am interested in your mods, may be the next step I take along with the headers.

LOL. ^^^

Ghetto shops are usually the cheapest haha

The one shop I was at the other day said they could not remove the secondary cat because it was illegal??? Is that right?
