2004 e55 ran 11.94@116 basically stock

I have been very pleased with the way this car looks and drives, but after last night i am not sure why i waited so long to get one. I have a 2004 E55 AMG. It has 50,xxx miles and the only mods i have done was too delete the rear cats, resonator, and remove the air dams at the front of the grill for better flow. The car still has the paper amg filters. Our track is very close to sea level and it was 52 degrees when i ran.

E55 AMG
Well done!

This is not a surprise to me. I went 12.06 @ 117, 1.86 60'. With a 1.75 60' I could have gone 11.8x or so.

Good numbers....

By the way, the stock wheels are 18" and stock tire width is 265 (continentals).

Agreed on the good run, but how is it basically stock? You have multiple exhaust mods and wheels/tires over a stock E55 (and arguably intake because of the air dam changes).

Stock is as it rolled off the showroom floor. Any changes and you're not basically stock - you're modded.

The guy said "basically stock", we dont need to get all technical here.. None of his mods are going really going to result in a better time..

I agree ^^^^^

That is "basically stock" lol He did not add a pulley or headers or tune or anything significant, so I would say it is a valid "stock" number.

Thanks guys, and sorry i wasn't trying to take anything away from anyone by claiming to be totally stock. Where is my most bang for the buck for $1500 or less? i wanna go a lil faster, but dont have a fortune. also can i do it and not affect warranty

+1 I remember awhile back I called rise of the "stock" machines it does not matter if its a 1.74 60' on street tires or a 1.74 60' on drag radials a 1.74 is a 1.74 in general drag radials are meant to aid in traction but lately we are seeing street tires that equal 60' times of drag radials. When you start talking about tenths or hundrenths of a second in relation to the 60' its not the car its the driver and track prep.
