there needs to be a recall on this
Got a flat today, that made for a squirrelly few seconds. I got to changing the tire with the jack that comes with these cars. While i was jacking up the rear drivers side of the car the damn jack bent!. and my car fell off the jack because of it. Good thing the flat tire was still loosely on. To the unknowing this could be a friggin death trap. I told my buddy at the Mercedes dealer about the crappyness on the jack MBZ gives you. So he sent along this funny pic to my email of a shirt made about our jacks.
In short I'll never change my flat tire with the Mercedes "widowmaker" jack again.

Same happened to me on my E55.. Jack is total junk. They should be ashamed to put this in these cars. It's gonna take someone seriously getting hurt, and sue the **** outta them. Than maybe they'll update it.

Same thing happened with my bmw...Those jacks are garbage. Bad enough you have to change a tire on the side of the road, Let alone having to use those pieces of *****.

I had to swap my rear passenger tire out today...I started with the OEM Jack but got a real uneasy feeling and switched to my low-profile floor Jack...it didn't fit perfectly on the lift bracket but it was better that that OEM POS

Agreed these jacks are a nightmare to use even on level ground and impossible on the slightest incline. Are the new model cars still using this design?

That's exactly why I called MB Road Side Assistance the last time my driver's side inside sidewall shredded. The first time I had a flat in my E55 I looked at the jack and how my car was positioned (on an incline) and knew right away the jack wouldn't work for that. The second (and latest) time, I didn't even bother with the jack... My wife (who knows I know how to change a flat) picked on me about it, I told her that I would much rather wait an hour for the tech to come by with a proper floor jack than to risk using that thing on my vehicle!!!!
