Doesn't look like the GTR was trying very hard.
I've heard this too ... why design are car to be able to do this but then not warranty it. It's like saying the car can do 180 mph but if you do over 100 it's not covered ... kind of retarded! Sports cars should be expected to be launched hard!

Nice run my friend....... I would have expected a bit more from the GTR but....a win is a win.
Going out on a limb here.......is it possible that you are a hot chick and your "friend" let you win in a lame attempt to get into your pants?

Are the warranty issues still going on with the GTR? I remember over a year ago reading their forum about a bunch of people suing Nissan for voiding their warranty for literally turning off the launch control once. Apparently it was in the small fine print they signed.
On a side note, the e55 owners on here are spoiled with the 1/4 mile times. Running 11's is totally fine on this board, which is simply awesome.
I've been a member on many forums and one of my last being evolutionm.net where guys are modding their evos to the point of insanity to get into those numbers..it's kind of funny.
The e55 just does it smoothly and without all the smells and noises. I also lost my clutch/transfer case/transmission on STOCK turbo in the evo. Nevermind what happened with the AMS 35R.
Dont forget what kind of car we own here guys!

Mmmm from what i recall, the "voided warranty" issue from turning off traction/VDC was resolved a while ago. VDC1 was the first launch control that Nissan would void if used. From all the lawsuits and BS that occurred, they created VDC2 (updated VDC software) so launch would start at 2000rpm instead of 4500, so even if anything happens to the transmission or whatever, as long as the owners are running VDC2 they should still be covered, with the exception of POTENTIALLY voiding warranty on the transaxle.

I ran a 10.9 @ 127 in my GTR with only a tune. No other mods.
It can do 1.75 60 foots with the LC2 launch control (3000rpm launch ). Not the tranny busting 4800 in the early 09's.
The guy hit the rev limiter in 1st. Easy thing to do.

Regardless of whether the GTR would "eat ur lunch on the hwy" or not, I am still impressed with the performance of the E55s! A four-door sedan that weighs as much as it does putting down these kinds of number in stock specifications is amazing. I enjoy driving mine on a daily basis. I still grin as someone in the VW, Camaro, etc. pulls up beside me at a light thinking they will be able to take me... Let's face it... I'm sure if MB/AMG really wanted to, they could come out with a vehicle that would absolutely blow the GTR, CTS-V, etc., out of the water... But then, they would probably lose everything these vehicles represent...
