Whatever we're tuning!
Reset the ECU adaptions and you will be good to go.
If you do get the CEL again then:
1) the air filter is pinched(1.tighten ALL the air box screws until they START to get tight 2. then go back and fully tighten all of them starting from the first one)
2)the MAF gasket isn't sealing properly
3)you dislodged the bottom of the y-pipe from the intake plenum going to the throttle bodies when you removed the air boxes.

When you just lift the air boxes up to remove the filters, there is a chance you have dislodged the y-pipe. Check it out. There are 2 plastic clips that attach the bottom of the y-pipe to the backside of the intake manifold plenum.

So I know removing the charcoal filters will increase air flow, but what are we giving up? What do those filters actually do for the air going into the engine?
