I have been following your tuning for my E55, do you provide TCU tunes too? How long does a dyno tune take? Can you write over my Renntech tune, they told me it is not possible to change anything after they tune it. My brother has an Sl600 and is looking for an ECU/TCU combo too!

The above price is for a mail in box tune, we could offer you a good deal on dyno tuning and tcu tuning as well. It typically takes 1-2 hours depending on the shop etc.
Yes, we can write over an existing tune, without a problem.
Send me an email at sales@eurocharged.com and we can work up some pricing for the SL/55 together and save some $

i dont have the v8 but jerry just retuned my s/c v6. the torque management is amazing and the stutter i had from 1st to 2nd in everyday traffic is gone. car shifts smooth as silk, and when i stand on the throttle im shredding my street tires thru 3rd gear. afr's are 11.9 to 12.3 thru 170mph. its an awesome deal ! ive been a fan if the e/c tune for a good while and im recomfirmed again!!

2005 E55,172 pulley, H/E, shorty headers. 1985 280sl euro
Jerry has my E55 as I type this. I can tell all of you that you will not find a better company to do business with. Jerry's follow up is amazing to say the least. I am impressed and haven't even driven the car yet. He is installing pulley, heat exchanger, i/c pump, Kleemann headers, Jerry's famous dyno tune and lowering the car via STAR.
If you have been thinking about it take him up on this offer!! She's smoking hot, I mean it's a smoking deal!
I will post again once I drive the beast.

We do TCU's for the 55 and also do alter a great deal of the tq mgmt also on shift points times/etc on the 55 ecu. The shift lag from 2/3 is gone!

Couple quick questions. Jerry told me you can TCU tune my car and my brothers, do I have to send you out the TCU, or is it done through the ECU? What can you change in the TCU for my car and my brothers SL600. I was told that the shift points and torque limiters are in the TCU and not the ECU for the 55s and 600? Is this true? Look forward to your response, thank you.
Another quick question, sorry for the length of my response. I when I searched through the forums I came across a couple blown up engine threads pertaining to Eurocharged. I have been told by a few members that the issues these car tunes had have been solved. Is that true? I want to go custom on my tune, but I dont want to blow my motor. From what I read, it is a very expensive fix!

Chad

In regards to motor failures on the 55's, none of the failures were ever proven to be because of a Eurocharged tune. If you search, you will find that other vendors have had the same issue. I personally feel the issue was due to the +90 IDC on the stock injectors. However, some members have made up their own minds and have spread rumors regarding our software. It's easier to point fingers at us...

You have to send out the ECU. You are correct, there are trq limiters in the TCU (and ECU), and the shift points are in the TCU.

A question about the shift points and torque limiters though. If they are in the TCU and I am sending my ECU to you for tuning, how do you change shift points and raise torque limiters? I apologize for my ignorance on the lack of knowledge on the subject...

So is it an absolute necessity to change the injectors on the car?

No, it is not a necessity to change the injectors. I recommend it on highly modified 55's and those that like to venture above 150+mph. Have your IDC checked after the mods and go from there.
There are maps in the ECU for limiting torque. There are also maps in the TCU for limiting torque. We modify the torque limiters in the ECU. We can also modify the torque limiters in the TCU, but you will need to send us the TCU.
The shift points are solely located in the TCU. There is no way to change the shift point (at what rpm the car shifts) with only modifying the ECU. You would need to modify the TCU as well. What I modify (and my method behind it) is somewhat of a secret. There are maps that limit torque before and after a shift, as well as maps that define the end time for upshifts and downshifts. There are a few other maps that I modify that tie all of this together that I refuse to discuss.
Thanks,
Jerry
