once you delete the resonator you may experience that motor boat/baffle sound. you may not like it ....go onto youtube and listen to the cars that have deleted the resonator vs the ones that have not before you do it.

I finally did the secondary cat and resonator delete with an xpipe this morning and I am totally happy with it. I've been complaining that the exhaust note in my car is whisper quiet and now it is just right. There is definitely a noticeable change in the tone, it's not too loud so it's perfect for me. Although I may start feeling the bug and work toward a louder one now :P.
Big thanks to Johncy2000 since he recommended the shop.
And now for the pics, they were taken from my phone so quality isn't the greatest.
This stock setup looks so bulky and unnecessary.

You really can't hear much difference at startup but, it is a deeper not when you get on it.
I'm trying to get on the dyno on Saturday to see how this affected my baseline hp/tq from the other week, prior to doing this.

The best approach would be to angle the x-pipe up a little as seen in my pic. This softens the bend and is easier to wrap over the crossbrace.

Just keep those mufflers on there. I am beggin you. Without, it really sounds raspy. Just not my taste with the General Lee Dukes Of Hazard sound ya know.
I know it's always a cash issue with these overpriced mods on our cars.....is that why you didn't just plop a huge set of long tubes (headers)on it and call it a day??
OH she'll have some sound then!

Matter of taste but agree with above. Those mufflers sell for $700 for a reason (tips mainly).
With headers, x-pipe, and 2nd cat/resonator delete=good low rumble, no vibration or resonance, just pure low V8 luv. I have yet to see tips that top OEM.

Need advice for better sound
I have a 2003 sl509 r230 and I want it a little more louder, it's whisper quit, I'm thinking about cutting out my 2 rear resonators and putting straight pipes, some ppl tell me to do it and others say no, will it get louder? Cause and damage at all to the car? Plz give me some advice, I just want it to sound nicer
