A supercharged E55 AMG or the naturally aspirated E63 AMG? Which would be the better performance car? I am going to buy based on which one has more potential for performance.

I guess I like the idea of naturally aspirated seems there are more problems associated with supercharged and turbocharged engines.

well this pretty much depends on how fast you want to make it . for the money that it costs to buy a 06 e55 or for that a 07 e63 you can get a early model turbo 911 that can be made even faster than both and IMHO are way more reliable and have much more collectors value down the road .

the AMG cars as great as they are lose value more than FLA real estate

I think its fair to say from the Mod junkies prospective. You will hit a wall with the E63. When the E55 will keep making power. Plus torque is so addictive and the E55 will make more of that.

E55. More stout from the factory so less chance of something internally breaking from the added power IMO.

E55 FTMFW.. or a twin turbo as Tgoss mentioned.

All you need to do is look at peoples 1/4 mile times, and you will see that bolt on's (on a 55 platform) yeild some frickin amazing results. C63 has some serious potencial, however Forced Induction can provide more HO per $$

What is your goal?

EDIT HO = HP (+ drinks)

Are you kidding? The E55 has much more modding potential for much cheaper. Don't get me wrong, the E63 is a great car, and if I was comparing stock for stock, I would go for the E63 in a heart beat. Just know that when it comes to modding, the E63 will cost you 4 times as much for half of the gains
