A bit of silliness with my E63
New Year's greetings to all from a warm and pleasant New Zealand summer
This weekend my wife and I and the E63 AMG are participating in NZ's Cannonball Run. This is not quite the same as the "real" Cannonball, and is more like a day of automotive orienteering/treasure hunt rather than a timed event.
Having said this I have a sneaky suspicion that the tread levels on the rear tyres will be a little bit lower after the event than they are now . The organisers have a pretty good relationship with the highway patrol and I think there will be times they are looking the other way, so to speak...
Have attached a couple of pics of the E63 stickered up. Will take some snaps along the way and post them up after the event. Last year there were some quite cool cars participating including a beautifully put together replica GT40.
The E63 ('06) is pretty much stock on 18"s running Hankook Ventus V12s (thanks to all those tyre threads!) and I think there might be a secondary cat and resonater delete + x-pipe in its near future

His wife crazy
Greetings Kiwi!
You may get flamed for the flames on the fender
The car looks great all decked out for the event, even if you don't win, you are still bringing home the treasure.
Good luck!

Excellent day had by all but one car - 175 cars participated of all shapes and sizes, unfortunately one bloke's R32 GTR was incinerated after a fuel pipe came loose I've posted a few pics to show the diversity on show. Lots of American muscle on display, and surprisingly 3 TVRs (never seen so many in one place before). No other AMGs, and only 2 other Mercs turned up.
The organisers are still tallying the points (since a lot of the challenges required photographic evidence) but we know we will be in the middle of the pack.

Nice pics man. Enjoying the beast on a beautiful southern hemisphere summer day. Particularly welcome given the fact it was 1 degree when I got up this morning. I think thats like -17 in your neck of the woods.
