My 63 did that on both hot and cool sides. It was my coolant thermostat sticking. It was an electrical fault. I am reading my invoice and it says codes 1916, 1462, 0856 . did electrical test, pins 1.1, 1.2 @r48 have 12 volts when thermostat actuated. they drained engine coolant, re re engine covers, re re poly drive belt, re re steering oil res, replace engine thermostat. No idea what this means but I hope it helps your situation.
